Laurie has been a physiotherapist for 10 years in various cities, ski towns and internationally. She currently works and travels with the Canadian Snowboard Team, and previously with the Canadian Freestyle Ski Team. She has completed additional training and is certified in Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS), Acupuncture (CAFCI) and Orthopaedic Manual Therapy. She works with recreational and professional athletes, retirees, weekend warriors, moms, olympians and everyone in between.
Laurie graduated from University of British Columbia in 2002 with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics, Exercise Science, and in 2006 with a Master of Physiotherapy. Before pursuing physiotherapy, she worked as a firefighter, ski patroller, cat-ski guide and coast guard SAR (search and rescue) technician. Laurie grew up as a triathlete and runner, and knows what it is like to be injured. It was a work-related injury that led her to become a physiotherapist. If she is not in the office you will find Laurie on the ski hill, in the backcountry, riding her bike or running on trails.
