CHRIS MONTGOMERY
PHYSIOTHERAPIST (MSc.PT, BSc.Kin)
Chris’ journey to becoming a physiotherapist began in high school when his own injuries from the basketball court led him to the physio clinic. He was instantly drawn to a profession that allowed him to blend his desire to connect with people with a passion for health and exercise. This led him to the University of Alberta to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (2012) followed by a Master of Science in Physiotherapy (2016), taking some time in between degrees to work in the fitness industry and travel.
He appreciates having a career that gives him the opportunity to guide others on the path to better health and performance. He enjoys the challenge of analyzing movement biomechanics, finding dysfunctions and solutions. His passion for exercise is reflected in a treatment style that focuses on optimizing strength, mobility, and quality of movement through appropriate exercise prescription.
In addition, Chris uses dry needling, acupuncture, joint manipulation, and soft tissue techniques to provide the best possible outcomes for his patients. He has a special interest in sport injuries and loves working with athletes of all abilities anywhere on the spectrum from injury prevention to rehabilitation to sport performance. He believes in finding ways to train around pain and always strives to keep his patients active despite their injuries.
Outside of work, you’ll find him trail running, strength training, hiking, biking, or skiing. He’s also an avid traveler, loves to spend time with friends and family, and enjoys sipping the occasional mezcal.
