MADELEINE PLESKO

SEA TO SKY PHYSIO TEAM

MADELEINE PLESKO

PHYSIOTHERAPIST (B.HK, CSEP-CPT, MSCPT)

Originally from London Ontario, Maddy moved to Ottawa to complete her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology (2013) as well as her Master’s degree in Physiotherapy (2017) at the University of Ottawa. French being her first language, Maddy strives to provide comfortable and thorough care in both official languages of Canada.

Through her undergraduate degree, Maddy pursued varsity rowing and competed at many provincial, national and international levels. Through many injuries of her own, Maddy looked to knowledgeable physical therapists to facilitate her return to play and discovered she wished to provide that same level of care as a physical therapist herself.

Working both in the private practice community in both pediatrics and adults as well as in the public sector such as critical care and burns, Maddy believes in a holistic and full-bodied approach to physiotherapy. Discovering root causes of current injuries and adjusting lifestyle factors to ensure long term health is her main focus. Continuing education is one of Maddy’s biggest professional goals and to continue providing the highest quality of care possible. She currently has advanced education in vestibular and concussion training, is currently a certified yoga teacher and personal trainer, has current breathwork and cardiorespiratory advanced courses through Mary Massery and hopes to continue her studies with acupuncture this year.

Maddy strives to provide an open and educational environment for her patients and seeks to be creative in her approach to return patients to their previous level of function. She is keen to provide care for all levels of function and age in the athletic, cardio-respiratory, neurology, and concussion populations in both adult and pediatric sectors.

Maddy’s first love was swimming although now enjoys staying active with beach volleyball, rock climbing, snowboarding, weightlifting, and hiking.
