Exercise Therapy follows the belief that the different joints of the body work together as a series of joints with a specific function – either for mobility or stability.
A CSEP-CEP performs assessments, prescribes conditioning exercise, as well as exercise supervision, counseling and healthy lifestyle education in apparently healthy individuals and/or populations with medical conditions, functional limitations or disabilities associated with musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, metabolic, neuromuscular, and ageing conditions.
Functional Movement Screen (FMS) & Selected Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) screens allow the therapist to identify strengths & weakness, as well as mobile or unstable areas within the body. After this analysis, one can learn to move with better biomechanics and efficiencies, while avoiding injury and performing at one’s potential. The Strength and Conditioning program is individualized according to your needs; helping you meet your goals, for sport, recreation, or general health.
A battery of functional tests designed to help determine your return to play status… whether a work or play situation, it is always valuable to know if your injury has regained its 100% functional status. This battery of tests is designed to help determine that. The results can help guide you back to play or work as well as highlight any weaknesses that need to be addressed.
